School Accreditation

You must attend a school that is approved by your state to provide training in the discipline you want to practice. Check with the school and the state board to be sure that your program of study will prepare you for any applicable state licensure.

You will notice that many schools may not offer nail specific programs, but do offer nail training as part of a complete cosmetology program. We recommend learning about cosmetology programs because they can teach you a wider range of skills. Be sure to speak with several schools to find out which type of program will work best for you.

Some examples of schools in Wisconsin include:

– Gill-Tech Academy of Hair Design in Appleton, WI
– The Institute of Beauty and Wellness (Aveda School) in Milwaukee, WI

During the course of your training, you’ll learn the techniques and skills to pamper your clients. You’ll learn how to airbrush nails. You’ll learn how to apply tips, acrylics and gel nails. A part of your training will cover nail art and design. You may even learn hand and feet massage technique. Sanitation is also a portion of your education.
