Overview of Electrolysis Licensing in Kentucky
Kentucky does not currently have a state requirement that electrologists must have a license. Electrologists may practice without a license, but they may want to pursue the Certified Professional Electrologist designation that is offered by the AEA. This designation gives electrologists the opportunity to network with more professionals in the industry and also gain additional clients through referrals by other CPEs.

The reality is that electrologists may earn a much higher salary if they independently operate a practice in the state. The salary potential for electrologists who operate a private practice ranges from $25,000 to $50,000 a year.
